The project work included full mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services for the design of the 22-acre Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park next to the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge on the Cooper River. This project features a visitor’s center, playground, bronze war memorial, sweetgrass pavilion and the area’s longest pier 1,250 feet. At the end of the $3 million pier, in 12 feet of water, is an artificial reef to attract fish and a tackle shop where a police substation also is housed.

Specific design included: electrical design for lighting and general-purpose receptacles to serve the pier; plumbing design to provide water to the fish cleaning sink(s) and/or Bait Stations; and fire protection design to provide a backflow preventer at the head of the pier and fire fighting hose stations at intervals.
