DWG Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design for a new 70,000-square-feet four-story science building housing research and teaching laboratories and administrative and faculty offices. As well, this expansion features a state of the art greenhouse facility.

The new building will be located on a site to the southwest of the existing Hodge Hall and will be physically connected to it by a bridge at the second level.

The most up to date mechanical systems are employed utilizing DDC controls and feature an extremely controllable yet energy efficient design. The electrical system was designed to provide energy efficient lighting systems. Further the entire electrical system was designed with the option of adding an additional floor at a later time, without causing an overload to the electrical system and avoiding additional equipment and expenses.
