Noisette is a 3,000-acre section of North Charleston, South Carolina. The Noisette Company is committed to revitalizing and restoring this section of the community while maintaining the belief that cities must be responsive to social needs, environmental responsibility, and economic vitality. Building 7 is a renovated multi-story office building located on the grounds of the former North Charleston Navy Yard. Keeping with the Company’s philosophy, Building 7 was renovated with sustainability in mind.
The project gained LEED certification through the use of the following systems designed by DWG Inc.:
- HCFC and HFC based refrigerant systems
- CO2 monitoring
- Utilization of MERV 13 filters for increased IAQ during construction
- Dedicated exhaust fan(s) for indoor chemical pollutant source control
- Active temperature and humidity control to maximize thermal comfort
- Energy management system to monitor thermal comfort to verify effectiveness.
