DWG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services for the addition and modification of the Cooper River Library. The scope of this project included the demolition of two additions to the library, built in the 1970s, while maintaining the historic structure of the building. The completed building features community and study rooms, an outdoor reading area, self-check kiosks and automated materials handling, creative studios, a Storytime room, a computer lab, a demonstration kitchen, an interactive history display, and is now known as the Keith Summey North Charleston Library. The building features two packaged air handling units and one dedicated outdoor air system, providing improved occupant comfort and ventilation.
